- Windshield: A non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line, which is typically five inches from the top of the windshield. The windows must have a VLT% greater than 25, meaning that they allow more than 25% of light to pass through.
- Front side windows: The reflectivity of tints on these windows cannot exceed 25%. Mirrored or metallic tints that appear reflective are not allowed.
- Back side windows and rear windows: There are no specific VLT% requirements that these windows must meet. However, they must provide at least 10% light transmission. The reflectivity of tints on these windows cannot exceed 25%. Red or amber tints are advised against due to the risk of confusion with emergency and law enforcement vehicles.
Medical Exemptions
Oklahoma law provides medical exemptions that allow individuals to have greater leniency with the VLT%. If granted, the medical exemption allows the driver to have tints darker than 20% if the vehicle is used exclusively during daylight hours.
To obtain a medical exemption, the driver must provide documentation from a licensed physician and receive approval from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. They must keep the approval in their car and be able to show it if they are pulled over.

Anyone who violates the Oklahoma window tint laws is subject to the following possible penalties:
